Five desks.
One counterparty.

What we are

A trading house, not an introducer

Most sourcing intermediaries pass a name along and step back. We contract. That means we carry the documentation, the payment structure and the inspection chain, and we answer for them — which is also why we trade a defined set of commodities rather than everything that comes past the desk.

01

Defined book

Five desks, each with products we can actually price and origins we actually buy from. If it falls outside them we say so rather than brokering blind.

02

Screened counterparties

Every supplier and buyer is put through FICA/KYC and screened against UN, OFAC, EU and UK sanctions lists before anything is quoted. Regulated lines get enhanced due diligence.

03

Bankable terms

Offers state grade, lot, price basis, validity and lead time. Payment runs on documentary instruments, not promises — and we will tell you when a deal is not bankable.

04

SADC as home ground

Nearly three decades of distribution and export experience across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and Zambia — registration pathways, ports and customs included.

Execution

How a trade runs

Five stages, in this order, every time. You will know which one your enquiry is sitting in.

STAGE 01

Specification

Grade, tonnage, destination, delivery term and target price. Vague enquiries get vague prices, so we pin this down first.

STAGE 02

Counterparty

Producers shortlisted on capacity and grade, then screened — company standing, licences, sanctions exposure, beneficial ownership.

STAGE 03

Firm offer

A dated offer with lot size, price basis, Incoterm, validity window and lead time. Nothing indicative dressed up as firm.

STAGE 04

Contract

Contract signed, payment instrument opened and confirmed, independent inspector appointed and the inspection scope agreed.

STAGE 05

Execution

Loading supervised, inspection certificate issued, documents presented, cargo followed to the delivery point named in the contract.

GDI Exchange

Source it yourself, online

The Exchange puts the desk in your hands. Most of it needs no account at all — you only register where the law requires us to know who you are.

The book

What we trade,
and on what terms

Five desks. Each one lists the products we price, the lot sizes we work in, the origins we buy from, and the delivery and payment terms we contract on. If your requirement sits outside this, tell us anyway — we will say plainly whether we can serve it.

On precious metals: this is the most heavily defrauded corner of the commodity market. We do not entertain unverified allocations, unnamed sellers or documents that cannot be checked at source. Expect proof of funds, an assay arrangement and enhanced due diligence before any figure is discussed.

Regulatory position: Global Deal Inc. is an independent sourcing and trading agent. It is not a licensed pharmaceutical manufacturer, wholesaler or medical device establishment, and it facilitates supply between accredited manufacturers and qualified business buyers. Pharmaceutical products are not offered for sale within South Africa. Buyers are solely responsible for holding the licences, registrations and import permits required in their own territory, and proof of licensing is required before any regulated transaction is concluded.

Our position

About
Global Deal Inc.

We would rather quote five commodities we can deliver than fifty we cannot. Global Deal Inc. — trading principle

Who we are

A Johannesburg trading house with SADC in its bones

Global Deal Inc. is a physical commodity trading and sourcing house headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg. We buy, sell and source across five defined desks — energy, metals, agriculture, FMCG and healthcare — and we contract as a principal or a mandated agent rather than passing introductions along a chain.

Our leadership brings close to three decades of distribution, retail and export experience across Southern African markets. That background shows up in unglamorous places: knowing which port clears fastest, which registration pathway is realistic, which payment instrument a given bank will actually confirm, and when to walk away from a deal that will not close.

We are deliberately narrow. The desks were consolidated from a wider list because a trading house is judged on what it can price and deliver, not on the length of its catalogue.

What we hold to

Four commitments

01

Say what is real

Indicative is labelled indicative. A firm offer carries a date, a validity window and a named basis. If we cannot source something, we say so the same day.

02

Screen before quoting

Counterparty checks come first, not after a deal has momentum. Sanctions, licences, ownership and standing — on both sides of the trade.

03

Documents that match

The document set is built against the payment instrument from the outset, which is how a presentation gets paid instead of discrepant.

04

Stay in our book

We trade what we know. Enquiries outside the five desks get an honest referral rather than a speculative quote.

Frameworks

The standards we contract under

Not badges — the actual instruments, rulebooks and third parties that govern how our trades are documented and settled.

Incoterms® 2020  ICC delivery terms UCP 600  documentary credits GAFTA / FOSFA  agri contract forms LME  base metals pricing basis LBMA  precious metals basis SGS · Intertek · Bureau Veritas  independent inspection FICA / KYC  counterparty onboarding UN · OFAC · EU · UK  sanctions screening WHO-GMP / PIC/S  pharmaceutical manufacture SAHPRA / ZAZIBONA  regional registration NCND / IMFPA  where mandated

These are the frameworks our contracts and procedures are drawn on. Inspection agencies are appointed per shipment and named in the contract. Manufacturing accreditations belong to the producing sites we source from, not to Global Deal Inc.

Common questions

Before you enquire

We are a physical commodity trading and sourcing house. We take a buyer's specification, identify and screen a producer capable of meeting it, structure the contract and payment instrument, appoint independent inspection, and follow the cargo to the agreed delivery point. We trade across five desks: energy, metals, agriculture, FMCG and healthcare.

Not for most of what we trade. Energy, base metals, agricultural and FMCG enquiries can be posted on the Exchange with no registration — just the contact details we need to reply. An account is required only for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and precious metals, where supply is licence-controlled and we are obliged to verify who we are dealing with.

Delivery on Incoterms® 2020 — typically EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF depending on the desk. Payment on documentary instruments: DLC at sight, SBLC, cash against documents, or telegraphic transfer. Where a buyer cannot open a workable instrument we will say so early rather than let a deal drift.

Company standing and registration, production or allocation capacity, licences held, and screening against UN, OFAC, EU and UK sanctions lists including politically exposed persons. Regulated and precious metal lines get enhanced due diligence, which includes beneficial-ownership disclosure. Independent inspection is appointed per shipment and named in the contract.

Precious metals attract more fraudulent offers than any other commodity class, particularly out of Africa. Rather than filter that at the enquiry stage, we require verification up front: proof of funds, beneficial ownership, and a refinery or assay arrangement we can check at source. It costs a genuine buyer a few minutes and saves everyone a great deal else.

We are headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg, and our deepest market knowledge is across SADC — South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and Zambia. Origins are global: Gulf and Rotterdam for fuels, Black Sea and South America for grains, Asia for solar equipment, Southern Africa for metals and ores.

Within two business days on every enquiry, including the ones we cannot help with. Verified-access applications for regulated desks are usually reviewed within one business day.
